EVENING STUDY CENTERS FOR POOR CHILDREN

ARTI organized an Evening Study Center for the benefit of primary school children, poor rural children and Irular caste group children. The need for organizing this activity is because the literacy rate is very low for both males and females that belong to the two caste groups. School dropout rate is high, especially among the girls.

Hardly 35 per cent of the children only go for high school education. Their performance level is poor. Parents lack the motivation to provide higher education for the children. ARTI had organized this Evening Study Center to improve the academic performance of the children. An attempt has been made to motivate the parents of these children to provide for the higher education of their children and bring down the school dropout rate.
