ASSOCIATION FOR RURAL AND TRIBAL IMPROVEMENT ( ARTI )
ARTI is a small grass root level charitable organization, operating in Tiruvannamalai District since 1990. A group of social conscious young men and women from the service area villages gathered together and formed ARTI and got it legally as a non-profit making, non-political, and a secular voluntary organization / charitable organization operating under Tamil Nadu Societies of Registration Act 1975.
ARTI has also been registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act from the Home Ministry of Government of India and has become eligible to obtain foreign donation (FCRA No.076030253). ARTI has been exempted from the payment of Income Tax under 12A & 80G due to its charitable activities.
Since formation ARTI has been striving hard for the social, economic environmental and health development of poor people rural and tribal people in the service area villages. ARTI works for the development of the oppressed and downtrodden sections of the population through their own full participation.
Programs in this regard include activities that are aimed at livelihood, social security, gender equity and solidarity for their sustainable development. The ultimate goal of ARTI is empowerment of people with specific reference to women empowerment and women are able to live on par with men in all aspects of life.
In addition to this ARTI also aims to enable the poor and marginalized section of the society to exercise their own legal rights for a self reliant and self respectful life and to make them responsible citizens through the organization of community organization activities through the effective participation of different stakeholders.
Various kinds of sponsors, volunteers, and funding agencies support the work of ARTI.
ARTI receives grants, gifts and other kinds of help in its endeavour.
